SENIOR SUNSET SMASH

We are going into our fourth season of Sunset Smash and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

Love cricket but can’t sacrifice a whole Saturday to play the beautiful game? Then Sunset Smash is perfect for you! This short 8-a-side format is the perfect opportunity to get the old willow out and smash a few over the boundary.

Running on Monday evenings at Michaels Ave either side of Christmas, it’s a great choice for those wanting to enjoy cricket without having to block out a whole day. Teams will play one game a week starting at 6:15pm that will last approximately an hour. So enter a business team or grab a bunch of your mates and join now!

You can either enter a full team of 8 or as an individual and we will do our best to find you a team!

WOMEN AND GIRLS SUNSET SMASH

For the first time in 2023/24 we will be running a Sunset Smash Series exclusively for Women and Girls. This exciting initiative will serve as an introduction for any players or any ability looking to play cricket, in a social and inclusive environment. Ellerslie will be providing coaches to help the teams improve their skills and knowledge of cricket as the season progresses.

COST

$480 Team Fee for 6 weeks

TO ENTER

First the team organiser will need to contact our Club Manager. Email: manager@ellersliecricket.co.nz

Then you will need to register into our system.

We recommend registering on a computer or laptop as it is easier than registering on a mobile phone.

CANCELLATIONS

Decisions on cancellations for bad weather will be made prior to 5 o’clock on a Monday and captains will be texted and e-mailed. Cancelled games will be postponed to the end of the tournament, if possible.

GEAR

All games are played on Astroturf. No Spikes are allowed.

All gear will be provided by Ellerslie CC.

RULES & TEAM POINTS

Sunset Smash Rules >

2 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0.5 bonus point, if a team wins by more than half the required runs or 3 wickets (retirements count as wickets)
Should a team be forced to concede one week they will be deducted a point and their opposition will receive the full 2.5 points.
